President's Message
Dear Esteemed Members,
I am pleased to announce that the Malaysian Society for Automatic Control Engineers (MACE) has been successfully accepted as an Associate Member Organization (AMO) of the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC) effective from the start of 2024. This significant milestone reflects our unwavering commitment to advancing the field of automatic control in Malaysia, despite the challenges we have encountered.
Since our establishment in 2015, MACE has been driven by a dedicated group of researchers and practitioners, all committed to advancing the field of automatic control engineering. Over the years, we have made significant progress through the organization of symposiums, conferences, and the dissemination of technical publications, contributing to the growth and awareness of our discipline. While financial constraints have impacted our ability to maintain National Member Organization (NMO) status, our transition to Associate Member Organization (AMO) ensures that MACE remains an active participant within the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC). IFAC's gracious decision to waive our outstanding fees provides us the opportunity to focus on fostering international collaborations, advancing research initiatives, and organizing key technical events.
As we move forward, MACE will continue to strengthen its contributions to the global control engineering community while adhering to the IFAC Code of Conduct. We remain committed to promoting excellence and innovation in the field, both locally and internationally.
I am grateful to all members who have supported this application, and I look forward to working together as we embark on this new chapter.
Let’s keep moving forward with confidence and purpose!
Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohd Khair Hassan
MACE President (2023-25)
